About the Club

Who we are and what wushu means to us.

What is Wushu?

What is wushu?

Wushu (武术) is the modern, standardized form of Chinese martial arts. Routines are choreographed sequences of stances, kicks, jumps, and weapon work, known as forms, or taolu.

Taolu is what our club focuses on: it is performative and non-contact, judged on difficulty, execution, and presentation rather than fighting. Alongside barehand forms, members train weapons such as staff, broadsword, straightsword, fan, and chain whip.
